Q. How Do I Know I Can Trust the SJ Nurses Staff in My Home?
Our entire health care team is licensed or certified, has completed a thorough application and screening process, and is professionally supervised. In addition, we are fully bonded and insured and each new staff member undergoes a state criminal background check as well as a thorough physical examination.

Q. How Do I Arrange for Home Care?
You, your doctor, a friend or family member can call SJ Nurses to discuss your Home Care needs. When you decide to use our services, we will consult with you and those you trust in creating a care plan that is comprehensive and cost-effective. This plan includes the nature and frequency of the services we will provide. Our Nursing Supervisor will also explain your rights and responsibilities as a patient, the duties of our staff and our company policies. And best of all, SJ Nurses handles all the paperwork and the time-consuming phone calls to your insurance company!

Q. How Do I Know I/My Family will still be a Priority after Hiring SJ Nurses?
While SJ Nurses is providing service to you, our nursing supervisor will visit and call you to make sure that your Home Care needs are being met to your satisfaction.

Supplemental Staffing

Q: What type of facilities will nurses be able to work in?
SJ Nurses has relationships with many hospitals, nursing homes, business, schools and government offices that nurses can choose from. After the nurse has completed the application process, SJ Nurses will describe all the options available and let the nurse choose when and where she wants to work.

Q: Can I do supplemental staffing on a part-time basis?
Absolutely! Supplemental staffing is ideal for nurses who have a full-time job and want to make extra income by working at another location with SJ Nurses on their days off. Because the nurses chooses the times, dates and locations she wants to work, she can make sure that it fits her preferences and schedule. Of course, nurses who choose to do supplemental staffing on a full-time basis are also welcome to do so.

Q: How much do nurses get paid?
SJ Nurses pays top rates for supplemental staffing! The pay rates vary between jobs, facilities, days and shifts. The pay rates are almost always higher than the average full-time hourly rate. Pay rates are typically discussed during the application and screening process.

Q: From which countries do you recruit nurses?
We recruit English-speaking BSN degree registered nurses from the Philippines.

Q: What are the qualifications of these nurses?
The minimum requirement is a BSN degree and at least two years of experience in their specialty area. These specialty areas include but are not limited to CCU, ICU, OR, Recovery, Medical-Surgical, OB, and Pediatrics. Prior to arrival in the United States, the nurses will need to obtain a license in the state where they will be employed.

Q: How do you recruit and screen potential candidates?
As for all nurses, we undergo a thorough application and screening process to ensure that recruited nurses match the experience requirements of our clients. Authenticity of credentials and training will be verified through inquiries to the Philippine Professional Regulatory Commission and through a credential verification organization in the United States.

Q: What is the immigration process?
SJ Nurses utilizes an immigration attorney to facilitate the immigration process. We communicate with the attorney, client and nurse to make the immigration process as smooth as possible. Successful applicants will be issued an employment-based "green card" that permits a foreign national to live and work permanently in the United States. Of course, you may use an immigration attorney of your own choice.

Q: How long will it be before these nurses can actually begin work?
After signing an employment contract, it generally takes between 12-14 months for a nurse to begin working in the United States.

Q: What is the minimum duration of a contract with the nurse?
The nurse is contractually obligated for a minimum of three years, depending on the type of work
